Parliament Sergeant-at-arms' retires

Colombo (News1st): Anil Parakrama Samarasekera, Parliament Sergeant-at-Arms’ retired from service yesterday (August 29). He will be succeeded by Narendra Fernando, who is currently the Deputy Serjeant-at-Arms. Fernando will be appointed as Sergeant-at-Arms’ by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya during the next Parliamentary session. Fernando, who has 36 years Parliamentary Service, was promoted as the Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms in 2006. Following Narendra Fernando's appointment as Sergeant-at-Arms, Kushan Jayaratne is due to be appointed as the Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms.
