Unity brings victory ; V Force second endeavor, a success

Colombo (News1st) - The second endeavor, of Gammadda V Force, ended being a resounding success today (August 25) at the Muhandirampitiya Lagoon Pier in Negombo. What was the force behind this amazing effort? Young leaders from across the country together with officials of the Sri Lanka Navy and the Negombo Municipal Council. Talking to News 1st, Lieutenant Commander, Aminda Kalupahana of the Polythene and Plastic Recycling Unit said that, garbage has become a major crisis in the country at present and that the ideologies of the people should change in order to have an impact on the surroundings. Also speaking to News 1st, Dayan Lanza, Mayor of the Negombo Municipal Council said that they have already raised proper awareness among the people to refrain from throwing bottles, plastic and other waste into the lagoon. Students of the Sri Jayawardhenapura University and the Moratuwa University joined the V Force this time around as well. Members of Asia Pacific Alliance For Disaster Management also extended their support.  In addition to removing the garbage from the lagoon, the volunteers painted the safety fence around the pier. The Gammadda team is thoroughly happy to continue to be a part of this movement as citizens of the country. If everyone can come together and do something for the country that will be great. Where there is unity, there is always victory.
