COLOMBO (News 1st) – Two fishing boats that set out to sea from Chilaw during strong winds have been reported missing. Assistant Director of the Department of Fisheries, Padmapriya Tissera said the Sri Lanka Navy has been informed of the situation.
He noted that a fisherman who set off to sea from Wattala is reported missing as well.
The Meteorology Department has issued warnings stating that seas areas continue to experience strong winds. The Fisheries Department has requested small vessels to refrain from setting out to sea until the 20th.
