COLOMBO (News 1st) - Wimal Weerawanse, the leader of the National Freedom Front, at a party representative meeting held in Battaramulla yesterday (August 11) expressed the following views on the Mattala Harbour. Weerawansa stated that if things continue in the same manner, Mattala will be given to India along with the Kankasanturai harbour and the Palali airport, while the Trincomalee harbour would be handed over to Japan, Singapore, and India. He also continued to say that the east wing of the Colombo harbour too will be given to India and that when the Prime minister goes to the Sigiriya rock fortress broker says that too should be given to India to develop it. "This is the process of Sri Lanka becoming a sub-colony of India. Though the crown belongs to the king, the country belongs to the people. the country that belongs to the people is being sacrificed permanently by a group that holds on to the crown temporarily" added Weerawansa.
