Ranjan pleads not guilty of contempt of Court

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Supreme Court decided to hear the case filed by the Attorney-General, against Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake today (August 08) on charges of contempt of court. The decision was made after the Deputy Minister pleases not guilty of the charges in court. The Attorney General has filed 4 cases against Ramanayake. The Court ordered the Attorney-General to present the list of witnesses to court in order to record evidence pertaining to the case. The case was heard before a three-judge bench consisting of Chief Justice Priyasath Dep, Justices Nalin Perera and Prasanna Jayawardena. The case hearing was postponed to 05 September 2018.
