Tsunami warnings for Indonesia

The US Geological survey broke the news that a powerful magnitude 7 earthquake has hit along the coast of Lombok Island, Indonesia similar to that which had broken a week ago. The earthquake had occurred at around 06.46 pm local time towards the north of the tropical destination. The geological agency of the Indonesian Government; BMKG issued warning of the tsunami in their latest tweets.

Sunday’s earthquake is the second to hit the island in a week after a 6.4 magnitude quake left 14 people dead in the area last weekend. However, the Sri Lankan Meteorological Department stated that this earthquake will have no effect to Sri Lanka.
