Wildfires in Wellawaya Kotaweheragala and Malwathu Oya reserves

COLOMBO (News 1st) - 15 acres of land has been destroyed due to a wildfire at the Wellawaya Kotaweheragala reserve. A spokesperson for the police stated that the wildfire had erupted in the evening yesterday (July 31). The fire had been doused by the collective efforts of the police, wildlife officials, and residents in the area. Another wildfire which erupted in the Anuradhapura, Malwathu Oya reserve had destroyed 10 acres.
