Special High Court summons Former Presidential Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The three-member Special High Court issued notices today (August 01) on 04 people including the Former President's Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath to appear before court on the 24th of this month. The suspects have been indicted on 24 charges including the criminal misappropriation of Rs. 500mn from Litro Gas Lanka Limited. This is the first case filed before the three-member Special High Court by the Attorney General. The Attorney General had filed the case against the four respondents, Gamini Senarath, Piyadasa Kudabalgae, Neil Bandara Hapuhinna and K. Lasantha Bandara under the Public Property Act and the Penal Code. The Attorney General had informed the court that, 63 witnesses and 92 documents will be presented before the court to prove the charges against the suspects.
