COLOMBO (News 1st) – Thusitha Halloluwa is a Chief of Staff at a Ministry, and also a director of a key Government office. Halloluwa was summoned to the Kadawatha Police today (July 30) in connection to allegedly threatening a journalist. However, he did not arrive at the police station for the investigation.

Journalist Ushantha Warnakumara had lodged a complaint at the Kadawatha Police, claiming that Thusitha Halloluwa threatened him when he raised questions regarding a multi-million rupee deal.

Speaking to the media, journalist Warnakumara said that though he arrived at police for the preliminary investigation at 2 pm, the “relevant person” (Halloluwa) did not arrive.

“This threat can be considered as a threat to the media. He used his personal mobile phone to threaten me. I have the relevant recordings and I have produced them for the legal actions.” said Journalist Ushantha Warnakumara.
