COLOMBO (News 1st) – A spokesperson for the Meteorology Department stated that showers and possibly thunderstorms will occur in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

He added light showers may occur in Anuradhapura and Vavuniya districts while showers or thunderstorms will be scattered across the Uva province, Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m.

Strong winds up to 40-50 kmph can be expected in the Hambantota, Monaragala, Ampara Matale, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Puttalam and Mannar districts.

50 mm rainfall is predicted across the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts.
