Imbulpe fire continues to rage

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The fire reported on the Paraviyangala mountain in the Imbulpe, Balangoda has not been doused as yet. Our reporters state that the fire, which began on Sunday, (July 29) had continued to spread into the Namperial Reserve. Even though locals and students of the Sabaragamuwa university worked to control the fire on Sunday, strong winds and a dry climate aided in the fire spreading. Balangoda wildlife officials had entered the mountain's reserve to inspect the damages caused due to the inferno. Over 60 acres of land has been consumed by the fire at present.
