COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Government has decided to stop the importing of eggs into the country.

Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs Gamini Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa stated that this decision had been taken after considering the issues faced by the local suppliers of eggs.

The Minister added that the local producers currently face losses due to eggs being imported.
