Reuters - Preliminary statistics show that the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf would become the largest party in the newly-elected National Assembly and form a new cabinet, according to Pakistani media. According to reports, as of the wee hours of Thursday, a preliminary statistics of nearly 30 percent of votes of Pakistan's parliamentary elections that concluded on Wednesday night shows that the cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf would win over 100 seats of the 272 seats of the National Assembly. Though the results of rough estimates by different media varied, with only about 20 seats have not been counted, the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf have already achieved around 105 seats, which is far ahead of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, which has won 71 seats, and Pakistan People's Party, which has won 39 seats. Meanwhile, in the provincial assembly's election of Pakistan's largest province Punjab, preliminary statistics show that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has a slight advantage over the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf. Supporters of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf have been parading across the country to celebrate their victory, while both the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People's Party said that they do not accept the result. The two parties said the Election Commission of Pakistan failed to hold a just and equal election and claimed that there was election fraud during the counting of ballots.
