Tippers carrying earth for Southern Expressway taken into Police custody

COLOMBO (News 1st) -Nine tippers that were transporting earth in the Weerskatiya area in violation of their permits have been taken into Police custody. According to the Weerakatiya Police the tippers were taken into custody while travelling along the Weerakatiya - Ranna main road last evening. The tippers had been transporting earth for construction activities on the Southern Expressway. The vehicles are due to be produced before the Walasmulla magistrates court today.
