SriLankan Airlines drops to 95th in Skytrax rankings

COLOMBO (News 1st) – The world ranking of our national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, has dropped 22 positions since 2015 to the 95th position in an international ranking carried out by Skytrax. Skytrax Awards 2018 the world’s largest annual airline passenger satisfaction survey, ranks the world's top 100 Airlines. The ratings for the Skytrax Awards 2018 have been voted for by airline customers around the world. Singapore Airlines is ranked the best Airline, followed by Qatar Airways, and ANA All Nippon Airways. Airlines from Asia dominate the elite end of Skytrax's rankings taking nine of the top 10 spots. SriLankan Airlines was ranked 81st last year by the same ranking agency. SriLankan Airlines has been in decline over the past several years incurring losses upon losses. In 2015, Suren Ratwatte, the brother of the Prime Minister's Senior Adviser Charitha Ratwatte, was appointed as the CEO of SriLankan Airlines.
