They were produced before Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne on Thursday. For the first time, there was a legal representation for Perpetual Treasuries Limited for this case filed in court. Kasun Palisena was permitted to sign a report on his assets and liabilities in court today (July 19). However, attorney appearing on behalf of Arjun Aloysius noted that his client has not been able to do so citing that when the wife of Aloysius had visited the prison she had faced certain difficulties. The Attorney Generals Department informed court there is a rumour claiming that one of the sims recovered from the prison ward in which Arjun Aloysius is held, had been used by an underworld figure in the same ward to orchestrate a murder in the south. The AGs Department said that investigations are currently underway into the mobile phones and the sim cards that were recovered. The Department of Prisons was warned by the Magistrate to ensure that facilities are made available to the suspects when they are brought to court.
