Interim order against state film corporation extended

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The interim injunction order preventing the distribution of privately produced films by the state film corporation was further extended to the 25th of this month by Colombo district judge Amila Rathnayake. The District judge also stated that any objections from the respondents must be presented on the 17th of July. Senior Deputy Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardena stated that the respondent party, the National Film Corporation, will be raising due objections. Chairman of the Sri Lanka Film Producers' Association, Sunil T. Fernando stated that the subject minister is the one who decided this must happen overnight and that there are ulterior motives behind this move.
