COLOMBO (News 1st) – Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka attended a meeting at the Navula Divisional Secretariat yesterday.

Answering a question posed by a journalist as to who the suitable person is to govern the country following the upcoming Presidential Election, the Minister replied that as the united national party that they would be putting forward their party leader.

“The party leader must decide if there are any obstacles and as to what his opinion is. On the other hand, the names of various people are coming forward. That is a good thing. However, we will be at a loss if these people end up in prison before that” continued Fonseka.

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka also added answering a question regarding the allegations about the PM being in Singapore and if there could be a possibility of calling Arjun Mahendran to come back while he is there, that he had seen a statement been made by the PM saying that he has no connection to Mahendran and that he is unaware of his whereabouts.
