Roy De Silva laid to rest

Colombo (News1st) - The Final rites of veteran actor Roy De Silva were carried out today at the Borella Cemetary. The remains of the later actor were placed at a private funeral parlor in Borella. Roy De Silva, who suffered a heart attack, was 80 years of age at the time of his demise. Politicians Artistes intellectuals and others arrived from morning to pay their final respects to the late Roy De Silva. As per the last will of the actor the remains were placed in a closed casket. The cortege left for the Borella Public Cemetery following religious activities. Born on the 30 August 1937 in Colombo, the name Roy de Silva is synonyms with Lankan Cinema. His contribution towards the enrichment of Lankan Cinema as an actor, director, producer, screenwriter and a background musician will be remembered.
