Gun permits to be re-certified

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lankan Police stated that steps have been taken to re-certify the issued gun permits. A senior officer said that license holders should submit their permits to the nearest police station and obtain their certification. He added that this measure had been taken in response to a recent spike in criminal activity and many unsuitable persons possessing firearms. He also added that special operations are being carried out to arrest those engaging in organised crime.
