UPDATE : Kusal Janith cleared of serious injury

UPDATE  09.24 PM: Sri Lanka Cricket has announced, Batsman Kusal Janith Perera, who crashed into the advertising boards, while fielding during the second innings of the West Indies test, is cleared of any serious injury. However, it yet not certain if he will play in the game tomorrow. The hosts, who lead the three-match series 1-0, had a 132 run lead when last man Shannon Gabriel walked into bat. Gabriel lofted off-spinner Dilruwan Perera and Kusal Perera fielding at long-on, threw himself in a bid to take the catch but the ball cleared the boundary and the fielder crashed into the advertising hoardings. The fielder's face and ribs made contact with the hoardings and he remained motionless for a couple of minutes forcing the support staff to rush to the scene. SLC said Kusal Janith was subject to scan and he is out of harms way. SLC will take his situation in consideration before reaching a decision as to whether he will play or not. Kusal Mendis and Dilruwan Perera remained unscathed through to stumps with Sri Lanka requiring a further 63 runs with five wickets in hand to win the game. 7.08 AM: Sri Lankan cricketer Kusal Janith Perera was injured during the third test match against West Indies. He sustained the injury when fielding. The day-night test match is currently underway at the Kensington Oval, in Bridgetown, Barbados. Kusal Janith injured himself after colliding with an advertisement board on the boundary line in the 5th delivery of the 28th over of Dilruwan Perera. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance for treatment.
