Excise Guard arrested while attempting to solicit a bribe

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption says an Excise Guard has been arrested while attempting to solicit a bribe of 6 million rupees. According to the Commission, the officer had demanded a bribe of 6 million rupees, to not take legal action against an individual connected to a drug racket. The officer had demanded the bribe from the wife of the individual connected to the drug racket. The suspect is a resident of Kuruwita.
