Colombo (News1st) – According to the Department of Meteorology, the current windy conditions being experienced by the island will continue until the 11th of June before dying down.

Showers or thundershowers are forecast for the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places. Several spells of showers are also forecast for the Western, Southern and North-Western provinces.

Strong gusty winds up to 60 kmph can be expected over the island particularly in Western, Southern, Central, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and Monaragala district.
