Who are the MPs and Ministers involved in the Bond Scam?

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Politicians commented today (June 09) on MPs and Ministers who are involved in the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam. Minister of Social Welfare and Primary Industries, Daya Gamage stated that if one had given money with the intention of looting public funds and if money had been taken while being aware of that intention, that is a serious wrong. According to the Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Ashok Abeysinghe, his name can never be in such a list. He added that if it does and is proven he will leave his post of Deputy Minister and MP and will leave politics. Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that if one was aware of this and accepted money, the first thing one must do is to resign and if one was not aware when accepting the money, one should at least apologize to the people. He said that he believes this is what politicians must do. P. Harrison, Minister of Social Empowerment stated that if someone had taken money from the Bond Scam, they need to be exposed no matter their rank and status. Priyantha Pathberiya of the Kaduwela Anti Corruption Front also speaking regarding the matter stated that Sujeewa Senasinghe says he fainted when he got to know that his Police Security Officers and personal staff had given evidence. He added that when a village loots and is taken to court by Police, can you ask him to pay for the damages or to release that person. Priyantha Pathiberiya asked the law to be enforced and Sujeewa Senasinghe be removed from his Ministerial position and he further asked the party to cancel his party membership and remove him from the party.
