COLOMBO (News 1st) – Mohamed Ismail was sworn in as a member of parliament today (June 8) in the presence of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

Mohamed Ismail was proposed by the General Secretary of United National Party (UNP) to the parliamentary seat left vacant following the resignation of Mohamed Haneefa Mohamed Navani who contested from the UNP and represented the All Ceylon Makkal Congress.

The gazette was issued on Wednesday night (June 6).
