Colombo (News1st) - The Sri Lanka Navy has taken into custody a suspicious dingy boat along with 7 people.
According to the Navy, they initially tracked the movements of the dingy boat in the seas off the northern coast of Kankasenthurei and had dispatched a high-speed attack vessel to intercept.
The intercept led to the arrest of 7 persons travelling from India to Sri Lanka. 2 persons onboard the dingy had been in charge of the human trafficking operation.
The Sri Lanka Navy stated that the boat and the arrested suspects were handed over to the Kankasanthurei police for further investigations.
