Three suspects arrested for possession of Gold at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - Three suspects who attempted to smuggle gold into the country were arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. 20 gold biscuits were seized from two suspects who had arrived in the Island yesterday (May 16) night. One of the suspects, who had arrived from India, had concealed 12 of these gold biscuits inside his body. Eight gold biscuits were found on another suspect who had arrived from Singapore. Both of these suspects are residents of Hambantota. Another suspect was arrested early today (May 17) morning with two gold biscuits in his possession. The suspect had concealed the gold in his footwear. The suspect was a resident of Wellampitiya who arrived from India.
