Six arrested for possession of heroin and a firearm

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Six suspects who were in possession of a firearm and a stock of heroin were arrested at the Peliyagoda Police Station. Police said the group had arrived at the police station claiming that they were being chased by armed gunmen.   Thereafter the police, on suspicion, had inspected the vehicle they had arrived in and found 4 grams of heroin, a locally manufactured firearm, 3 bullets and 19 grams of marijuana. The suspects aged 23, 25, 26 and 27 are residents of Wanawasala, Kelaniya.
