Committee of experts to decide on bus fare increase

  Colombo (News1st) :  The Ministry of Transport says that a committee of experts will convene today to discuss the revision of bus fares. Deputy Minister Ashok Abeyasinghe said that the committee will present recommendations on the bus fare increases relative to the increase in fuel prices. He added that the recommendations of the committee should be forwarded to the Cabinet for approval. However, General Secretary of the Private bus owners association, Anjana Priyanjith said yesterday that if the government fails to increase bus fares by 15% they will launch a strike action.
