JVP celebrates May day at BRC Grounds

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - The May Day celebrations of the People's Liberation Front or the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna was held at the BRC Grounds today (May 7). The May Day rally titled 'Nationalist Rule to build Social Justice and Unity' began with a march at Cambel Grounds at 1 PM this afternoon. Party leaders, foreign representatives, artists, and trade union leaders attended the rally. The march was made colorful with decorations symbolizing International Workers' Day. The march reached the BRC Grounds at 4 PM where the rally began. Several May Day proposals were presented at the rally which reflects the current political situation.
