Gazette on Cabinet reshuffle to be issued next week

Colombo (News1st) -  Secretary to the President, Austin Fernando says that the Gazette detailing the duties and powers vested in ministries, following the cabinet reshuffle, will be issued next week. He noted that the Gazette is being prepared at present adding that steps are being taken to allocate various SOEs and other departments in a scientific manner. It has also been decided to allocate seats in Parliament for the 16 SLFP MPs who defected from the Government after the Gazette has been issued. As 6 members of the group were former members of cabinet special seating should be allocated to them. A gazette has not been issued as yet detailing the names of the 10 deputy and state ministers who defected from the government. As a result, a senior official of Parliament noted that they are yet to reach a final decision on how to allocate seating for the MPs.
