COLOMBO (News 1st) - The case filed over the Wasim Thajudeen homicide was taken up today (May 3), in the presence of Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed court that steps have been taken to obtain a communication analysis report on the mobile phones used by the Navy personnel who were assigned to the security detail of Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's family.
Detectives said they have recorded statements from a number people with regard to a suspicious text message sent to Thajudeen's mobile phone by an unnamed woman who was at a party hosted by the victim a short period before his death.
The Additional Magistrate ordered the case to be taken up once again on the 29th of June and ordered the CID to produce a progress report on the investigation carried out.
Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake, Former Colombo Chief JMO Professor Ananda Samarasekera, Former Crimes OIC of the Narahenpita Police Dhammika Perera and all other suspects in the case were produced in court today (May 3).
