COLOMBO (News 1st) – The 41st annual convention of The Capital Maharaja Organisation got underway this evening (April 27), at the resplendent Stein Studios in Ratmalana.

The chief guest of the event was Former President of Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed.

Among other notable guests who attended this year’s annual convention were diplomats, executives of the Capital Maharaja Organisation, the Maha Sangha, experts from various fields, and politicians.

Top achievers of the Capital Maharaja group were felicitated at the event.

The highlight of the event was the selection of the executive of the year where five executives of the Capital Maharaja group were nominated for the coveted award.

The nominees are:

1. Kamal Kumara of PE+
2. K. Chamanthraj of Global Shakthi TV
3. Sanath Chaminda of Slon
4. Ramzi Cassim of Yes FM
5. Shameer Rasooldeen of AF Jones

The Channel Head of Yes FM, Ramzi Cassim, won the Executive of the Year Award for 2017 – 2018.
