Suspect arrested in deadly Attanagalla shooting

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - An individual has been arrested in connection with the shooting carried out at a musical concert in Attanagalla. Police said the suspect was arrested for aiding and abetting the shooting.

The suspect is a 42-year-old resident of Attanagalla and is due to be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate Court today (April 23). A 37-year-old businessman from Malwana was shot dead while four others including a pregnant woman were injured. The shooting was carried out by four men riding two motorcycles at around 10:30 PM on Saturday (April 21).

The Police said two police teams have been assigned to carry out investigations and arrest any suspects.

The pregnant woman and another man who was injured in the shooting were transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo yesterday (April 22).
