"There is a need for a national ICT policy" - ICTA Chairman

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - Prof. Rohan Samarajiva, the newly appointed Chairman of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) says there is a need for a national policy on Information Communication Technology in the country. The ICTA came under the spotlight on several matters including Google Loon project and the attempt to introduce a  National Payment Platform. It was against this backdrop, that a new Chairman and a Board of Directors was appointed to the ICTA. Prof. Rohan Samarajiva stated that there is no doubt that they need a national ICT policy.
