Sri Lanka Cricket announced today that South African national Nick Pothas who served as the fielding coach of the Sri Lankan national team has stepped down from the position.
Pothas entered into a contract with Sri Lanka cricket on the 8th of August 2016 as a fielding coach and in June 2017 he took up duties as the stand-in head coach of the team following the sudden resignation of Graham Ford.
With Chandika Hathurusinghe taking over the reigns as head coach, Pothas was once again relegated to Fielding coach. His tenure was set to expire in August.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, Pothas reached the decision to step down from the position following lengthy discussions upon the conclusion of the recent tri-nation series in Sri Lanka
