Residence of Kadugannawa UC Deputy Chairman, attacked

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - An unidentified group attacked the residence of the Deputy Chairman of the Kadugannawa Urban Council yesterday (April 14). Deputy Chairman, S.K. Wijeyratne, claims that a Podujana Permuna (SLPP) candidate who contested for the last LG polls is responsible for the attack. The attack occurred while no one was inside the house at the time, CCTV cameras had captured footage of the attackers arriving in a lorry and a three-wheeler. S.K. Wijeyratne was elected to the Kadugannawa Urban Council from the SLPP. He claims that an individual who was nominated on the SLPP list for the Council had threatened him and his wife on several occasions.
