US President Donald Trump extends wishes for Sinhala and Tamil new year

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Acting US Secretary of State, John J. Sullivan, in a statement on behalf of US President Donald Trump and the American people, extends wishes for a joyous new year to all Sri Lankan people. The statement reads, new year celebration is a chance to reflect on the milestones of the past year, as well as continued progress on good governance, economic stability, and reconciliation to ensure an even brighter future for Sri Lankan people. The statement further reads, the United States looks forward to working with Sri Lanka on shared goals of peace, prosperity, and further growth in the Indo-Pacific region in the year ahead.
