COLOMBO (News 1st) – Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, John Amaratunga says that his ministry will receive a new deputy minister courtesy of a cabinet reshuffle. The Minister also stressed that the Prime Minister did not ask him to resign from his position.
Responding to a question on wether he and Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera should handover their ministerial portfolios to backbenchers, he said the backbenchers should remain patient adding that he himself remained in government without a ministry for 10 years.
Minister Amaratunga invited the backbenchers to win their electorates and prove their capabilities.
