COLOMBO (News 1st) - During a media briefing convened today (11 April), JVP politburo member K.D Lalkantha said, ministers who voted for the no-confidence motion (NCM) should be ashamed to be a part of the government.
When questioned by journalists about members of the SLFP who voted against the PM remaining in the Government, Lalkantha said that politicians these days have no shame and that is why they remain in Government under a Prime Minister whom they spoke against.
Lalkantha also stated that the public have a responsibility to refuse such politicians and accused the public of being stupid on some instances.
The JVP politburo member added that the Parliament should be dissolved immediately but noted that the head of state does not have the power to take that decision. Lalkantha went onto note that the members of parliament would never agree to dissolving parliament as they would loose their priviledges.
