COLOMBO (News 1st) – Sri Lanka’s Anusha Kodithuwakku has won the bronze medal in the 45-48 KG weight class Women’s Boxing event at 2018 Commonwealth Games currently underway in Australia.

She lost her match against India’s Mary Kom.

This is incidentally the second meeting between the two. Their first was at the South Asian Games in 2015 in the 48-51 weight class event.

Anusha suffered an injury to her leg and lost the opportunity of going for the gold medal.

As of now, Sri Lanka has won one silver medal and three bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

It is the first time since 2014 that Sri Lanka has won medals at Commonwealth Games.
