16 SLFP members who voted in favour of NCM resign from Government

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  State Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena says, the 16 Members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), who voted in favor of the No Confidence Motion (NCM) against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will resign from all their ministerial portfolios, with effect from midnight. He made this statement following a discussion with President Maithripala Sirisena at the President's official residence. The 16 members include Ministers, State Ministers, Deputy Ministers, MPs as well as the Deputy Speaker. Following the NCM the members took steps to hand in their letters of resignation to the President. State minister Abeywardene speaking to the media noted that during the meeting the President accepted their letters of resignation.
