COLOMBO (News 1st) – Former Sathosa Chairman, Nalin Ruwanjeeva Fernando, who was arrested by the Police FCID at the Bandaranaike International Airport earlier today (April 6), has been remanded until the 9th of April.

Fernando was arrested while attempting to travel overseas, police said.

The Former Sathosa Chairman faces charges of alleged embezzlement of Rs. 39 million together with Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage. The alleged irregularity took place when in the importation and distribution of sports equipment for political motives.
