Sri Lanka wins the first medal at the 21st Commonwealth Games

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Chaturanga Lakmal won the first medal for Sri Lanka at the 21st Commonwealth Games currently being held at the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Competing in the event of men's 56kg weightlifting final, Chaturanga Lakmal won the bronze medal.  The gold medal of the event was won by Malaysia and India won the silver medal. The Commonwealth games began yesterday (April 4) and will end on the 15th April.
