Prevailing warm weather conditions to continue

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Prevailing warm weather conditions will continue till the end of next month (April), the Met Department says. It's Director, Athula Karunanayake citing several reasons said the decrease in wind speeds have caused the temperature to rise. According to statistics of the Met Department, during the past couple of days, the temperature at several areas of the country has increased by 1°C to 3°C. The highest temperature was recorded from the Anuradhapura District yesterday (March 30), and it stood at 36.2°C. Issuing a weather advisory this morning (March 31), the Met Department predicts that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and Uva Provinces after 2 p.m.
