Defaced currency notes exchange: Deadline to end soon

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The timeline provided to exchange defaced currency notes through commercial banks ends on March 31. If one fails to exchange defaced notes prior to March 31, the holder of the note has to bear the loss. The respective bank will be responsible in the event of a note obtained through an ATM. In such events, people should display the note to the CCTV camera fixed inside the ATM centers and request for a clean note from the respective bank, Central Bank states.
