COLOMBO (News 1st) – President Maithripala Sirisena announced that the Cabinet of Ministers have decided to hold May Day Celebrations on the 7th of May.

The Head of State made this statement while addressing an event which is currently underway in Colombo.

Further the president stated that the decision was taken based on a request made by the Maha Sangha as Vesak falls on the 1st of May.
