COLOMBO (News 1st) - The motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is being spoken of across all spheres. However, will Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa place his signature on this motion of no-confidence? To find out what the people think News 1st carried out an opinion poll. As of 06 PM today (March 20) 65% who took part in the poll say the Former President would not sign the no-confidence motion, while 35% said that Mahinda Rajapaksa would sign the motion. When Parliamentarian Rohitha Abeygunawardane, was questioned on whether or not Former President Mahinda Rajapakse would sign the no-confidence motion he said they will inform about it today (March 20). Parliamentarian S.M. Chandrasena stated that they have not withdrawn the motion of no confidence motion and that this was initiated by Minister Palitha Range Bandara and Wasantha Senanayake. Further, he said that because they did not proceed with it they had to take over the matter. “All members of the Joint Opposition have signed it and the SLFP members are in the process of signing it.
