Nine-year-old shoots his sister over a video game controller

We have had fights with our siblings but has it ever escalated to the point where you kill your siblings, your own flesh and blood?

Well, an incident was reported in Mississippi where a nine-year-old boy allegedly shot his own sister, a 13-year-old over a video game.

The boy had grabbed a gun on Saturday (March 17) after his sister would not give up the controller.

It was revealed that the boy shot her from behind, and the bullet had entered her brain.

A local sheriff announce yesterday (March 18) that the teen died of he injuries in a Memphis Hospital.

It was unclear to many how thee nine-year-old obtained the gun and what consequences the nine-year-old will face.

I assume he's seen this on video games or TV. I don't know if he knew exactly what this would do. I can't answer that. I do know its a tragedy.” - Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell

The children's mother was in another room, feeding other children lunch at the time of the incident.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting, including how the weapon, a .25 calibre handgun was accessed.

Sheriff Cantrell stated that this is all new ground for them and that they've never dealt with a kid shooting a kid at age nine.
