COLOMBO (News 1st) - Arrest warrants have been issued on former central bank governor Arjuna Mahendran by Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayarathne. The warrant was issued based on a request made by Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda, appearing on behalf of the Attorney General's Department. The request was made after informing the court that Mahendran failed to return to the country before the deadline set by the court. Also, on the request of Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda, Fort Magistrates Lanka Jayaratne ordered telecommunication companies to issue a report to the Criminal Investigations Department of all calls received by Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena. Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda also requested the court to issue an order calling for a report on the assets of Aloysius and Palisena. Fort Magistrates Lanka Jayaratne said the order will be issued at the next hearing.  The owner of the PTL Arjun Aloysius and CEO Kasun Palisena further remanded until 29th March.
